If anyone would have asked me my thoughts about technology is the classroom a few months ago, I would have said, "Yeah, it's alright." And not given it any serious consideration when it actually came down to creating my lesson plans. Now, however, I have been enlightened. So enlightened that I've been dreaming of ways to input technology into my classroom, literally. Early this morning I was dreaming of showing youtube clips of a football game with a running back eating up the yards, then stopping the clip to ask my students relevant math questions that they observe on the field.
The thing about math is that it's inherent to all of us, but somehow gets construed, difficult and unnatural as life goes on. I was told this is the difference between street mathematics and school mathematics. I truly believe I can merge the two with the help of technology. I want to make learning this subject fun and natural again.
